Chicken Porridge Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200 gr rice
  • 1/4 chicken or use breast chicken, it’s more tasty
  • 1 ltr water
  • 2 pieces cakue, finely sliced. Cakue is long roll that you can obtain at the Chinese supermarket. If you can’t find the fresh one, you have to looking in the frozen area, the chance is bigger that they have it.
  • Fried onions
  • Chopped celery
  • Chopped spring onions

Instructions:

  • Rub the chicken in with white vinegar or lemon to release the fishy taste of chicken. Then wash with clean water.
  • Cook the chicken in boiled water until tender with some salt. Set aside.
  • Take out the chicken out the water and fry the chicken. Debone and shred it.
  • Wash and drain the rice. Boil in 1 ltr water until grains are tender to the bite. Add the water that you used to cooked the chicken. Stirring it on low fire until the porridge is ready. If you need more water, add some more. If the porridge too thick is not really tasty, not too thick and not too thin. Just between in.
  • Serve porridge in a deep bowls. Add some salt and pepper. Garnish with cakue, shredded chicken, chopped celery, chopped spring onions, fried onions.
  • Add sambal, if you like it.
